The Kwara State government has inaugurated a 5 – man implementation committee that will oversee the newly constructed Gbugbu International Market in Edu local government area of the state.
The international market is cited in one of the communities of the hitherto neglected Kwara north and to the admiration of the long suffering people of the zone.
This is even as the government reaffirmed its commitment to upgrade and promote socio-economic activities through remodeling and redesigning of other ancient markets across the state.
While inaugurating the implementation committee, the state’s commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf – Adelodun, charged the committee’s members on transparency and dedication to duty. She urged them to uphold these values in order to achieve the goals set by the state government in meeting the yearning of the people of the state.
The commisssioner also charged the people of Gbugbu community to protect and make judicious use of the facilities provided in the market.
The members of the implementation committee are the director of Commerce, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Mr Adebisi
Taiwo, a representative of Kwara State Internal Revenue Services(KWIRS), Hajia Maimunat Amasa, the revenue officer, Edu local government, Mr Kolo Mohammed, a representative of Edu Emirate Council, Alh Sambo Magaji, and a representative of Gbugbu community, Alh Lema Gbugbu.
In her remarks, the executive chairman of KWIRS, Mrs Shade Omoniyi, advised the committee members to work assiduously, adhere to the work plans, follow the terms of reference and ensure smooth implementation.
