Nigeria’s sporting elite will gather in Lagos for the sixth edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards, set to hold at the Lagos Country Club on Thursday evening.

The event, scheduled for 6:00 pm, will be chaired by Dr Larry Izamoje, founder of Brila Media Group.

A host of high-profile dignitaries are expected, including former Sports Minister Sunday Dare, now Special Adviser to the President, Dr Danladi Bako, Dr Amos Adamu and football legend Segun Odegbami.

Also billed to attend are the Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, and renowned coach Fanny Amun.

Other notable guests include Olympians Henry Amike, basketball promoter and founder of the Mark D’Ball, Mark Igoche and Olumide Oyedeji, as well as leading figures from sports business and administration.

Chief Executive Officer of Sportsville Communication Services Limited, Frank Ilaboya, expressed optimism ahead of the ceremony, describing it as a premier gathering of Nigeria’s top sports personalities.

“The Sportsville Awards have become a convergence of the crème de la crème of Nigerian sports, and we are expecting another memorable evening,” he said.
