Glo Partners Ondo On Enhanced Digital Solutions

Telecommunications provider Globacom is partnering the Ondo State government to implement digital solutions aimed at increasing efficiency and productivity.

At a strategic meeting in Akure, Globacom’s Group Lead, Enterprise Business, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, presented the company’s offerings to Ondo Stare Governor, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and other state officials.

Under the partnership, Glo will provide several digital services to the state, including Learning Management System which will support students in secondary and tertiary institutions, in addition to Glo Share, through which students will have zero – rated access to the LMS, allowing them to learn online with free data.

The Glo-sponsored data service will also provide free access to Ondo’s digital payment platform, enabling citizens to pay taxes and other fees without using their own data.

Also the collaboration will include a Glo surveillance solution that uses facial biometrics and a Traffic Management Solution to help reduce crime. Additionally, Glo will assist the state in tracking official vehicles to prevent theft and misuse.

Globacom will offer free closed-user group lines to public servants, ensuring effective and free communication across all government ministries, departments, and agencies.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that his administration is eager to use these solutions to improve governance.

He believed the collaboration will lead to enhanced digital innovation, better governance, and socio-economic development in the state.

He emphasized that adopting new technologies from Globacom will help reduce bureaucracy, increase efficiency, and limit human interference in government processes.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also commended Globacom for its long-standing role in revolutionizing Nigeria’s telecomunication industry which made mobile telephony accessible to millions of Nigerians.
