Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has said contrary to wishes and expectations, God chose Bola Tinubu to be Nigeria’s president  in 2023.

He said God ignored other  contestants who, he said, campaigned on religious sentiments because he sees the heart of everybody.

He added that no opposition can stop Tinubu’s electoral victory  in the South East ahead of the 2027 election.

He stated this during the All Progressive Congress’ zonal stakeholders meeting held at the International Conference Center (ICC) Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

Nwifuru, who said the President has taken decisive steps to boost Nigeria’s economy, said “no amount of coalition can derail God’s purpose of Tinubu winning the election, come 2027.”

He described Tinubu’s presidency as divinely orchestrated, given his victory at the polls in 2023.

The governor appealed to the people of South East zone, to remain supportive of the president, stressing that his administration has initiated policies and programmes that have direct impact on the lives of the people.

While he noted that opposition was necessary to make administrations perform optimally, he however said such opposition should be objective and devoid of parochial interests.

“God chose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be president of Nigeria contrary to the wishes and expectations of the opposition in 2023. God ignored others who contested on religious sentiments because God sees the heart of everybody, that is why He brought Tinubu.

“Let me assure the people that no one is disturbed by the coalition. No opposition is well prepared more than our President. We need someone who can make bold decisions. President Tinubu has such capacity.

“Our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is at home in Ebonyi State, and we must be tolerant to divergent views and opinions and join Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to succeed and complete his tenure.”

Nwifuru further commended the Zonal leaders of the APC for working tirelessly to sustain the country’s democracy.

The APC chairman in the state, Chief Stanley Emegha, said the party would continue to conquer new grounds and ensure that it wins over all opposition members.
