GoHealth Begins Enrolment Of Local Government Employees

Gombe State Healthcare Contributory Agency (GoHealth) will embark on enrolment exercise of local government employees across eleven local government areas of the state.

Executive secretary of the agency, Dr Abubakar Musa, said Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya granted approval for the commencement of the exercise in line with his administration’s vision to provide universal health coverage in the State.

He said there was a strong collaboration between his agency and Ministry for local governments to ensure the exercise implementation records success.

“The enrolment exercise is scheduled to commence on the 8th of November 2023 at the premises of the local government Secretariats across the eleven LGAs of the State and is hoped to last for almost one month from now”.

“Arrangements have almost been completed hence our personnel alongside the required operational working tools have already been deployed for smooth commencement of the” says Dr Abubakar Musa.

He said, “Go-Health’s policy framework initiated and being implemented by Governor Inuwa Yahaya led administration began the programme targeting only State government employees, later extended to persons with special needs, the less privileged and will now reach out to the local government employees before it is escalated to staff of State’s own tertiary institutions.

Dr Musa, who tasked the local government employees on compliance during the exercise, said so far, over 100,000 beneficiaries access efficient and affordable healthcare service delivery under the GoHealth programme.
