Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sworn in 43 newly appointed development area administrators in Adamawa State.
At the ceremony held at the Government House, Yola, the governor said henceforth their performances would be monitored from the day they resumed work.
The governor, represented by the deputy governor, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, said the directive was geared towards strengthening performance, transparency and good governance at the grassroots levels.
Farauta asked the administrators to ensure good working synergy with their various local council chairmen.
“You are expected to work distinctly with your chairmen and ensure everyone is carried along”, he added.
The inauguration followed the recent confirmation of their appointment by the state assembly sequel to the creation of the units and funded by the state government, similar in function to local government areas under the federal arrangement.
Speaking behalf of the newly sworn in administrators, the Sole Administrator Vokna/Pakka development area Emmanuel Isa thanked the governor for the trust reposed in them, assuring their readiness to use the resources at their disposal for the development and wellbeing of their people.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered by Barrister Isuwa Misali on the new administrators.
