Gov Idris Kicks Off 600,000 Tonnes Of Fertiliser Distribution

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has begun the distribution of 600,000  tonnes of NPK fertiliser for the 2026 farming season i.

At the event held at Haliru Abdu Stadium, Governor Idris informed said the government had procured the fertiliser to met up with the target in this year’s farming season.

He said the distribution would cover 3,743 polling units of the state and 1,200 farmers are expected to benefit from the distribution.

According to the governor,  each farmer would receive bags of fertiliser from the committee free.

In addition the governor added that the farmers will receive one thousand seeds from the committee to enhance their farming activities.

He called on traditional and religious leaders to help the government in monitoring the distribution of the fertiliser across the designated areas and polling units in the state.      The governor also noted that the fertiliser is mainly for farming to enhance food security and warned that anyone caught diverting or selling it would be arrested and prosecuted.
