Sule, was elected the Governor of Nasarawa State in the 2019 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
So far, he has recorded transformation in critical sectors such as health, investments, economic development, infrastructure and the overall wellbeing of the people which are the main thrusts of his administration.

He has never left anyone in doubt on the pledge to focus on security, education, healthcare, investment and industrialisation, economy and agriculture. Other areas he pledged to focus on include rural development, youths and women empowerment, strengthening of traditional institutions, and cultural reawakening among the people.

Even as he placed priority on the completion of projects embarked on by past administrations, he has also engaged in a number of new projects.

He said, “Nasarawa state is primed to be an investment powerhouse in Nigeria by virtue of its abundant solid mineral resources, and close proximity to the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, and innovative business reforms that has supported it to attract investment of over $500 million in the last two years making it number three investment destination in Nigeria in 2021.

“As captured in the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS), the goal for attracting sanitising our business environments, establishing policies and Frameworks, while leveraging on private sector partnerships is to improve the productivity of our citizens, towards achieving technological advancement and socio-economic growth of our people.

“It suffices to say that our Public Private partnership framework which was established as a part of our Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency Law 2020, now provides modalities for our frontier agency’s NASIDA, NAGIS, Ministry of Justice, to conduct rigorous evaluations aimed at delivering world class partnerships with giant private industry players in the hope that we not only affect our state, but also on our region and the country at large.

“While we are not oblivious of the outstanding gaps in development, we understand that government alone cannot fulfill the obligations to meet our ambitions of competing amongst the top three economies in Nigeria. It is therefore pertinent to note that this administration will remain committed to driving conducive environments for private investments from new and existing players, towards achieving mutual prosperity.’’

Receiving the award on behalf of the governor, the director-general, Strategic Communication & Events Management for the State, Yakubu Lamai said, “Sule has the resilience and business expertise to move the Nasarawa State forward. He came prepared from being a managing director of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc and former managing director of African Petroleum (AP) Plc, Engr Abdullahi Sule has actually being moving Nasarawa State from backward in term of investment to Nigeria frontier of investment.”

Earlier in a welcome address, the managing director/editor-in-chief of the newspaper, Mr Ayodele Aminu, had said, “the newspaper which started operation in 2014 had weathered the storm to become an authoritative newspaper in the country.”

He said that award sought to reward individuals and businesses in Nigeria that had distinguished themselves through hard work and remarkable contributions to the development of the nation, in the public and private sectors.
