Governor AbdulRazaq: A Leader With Peace, Unity Identities

It is worth noting that constant abide and preaching of peace and unity are necessary tools to avoid incessant conflicts that emanate from political, religious, ethnic and cultural conflicts in our communities.

Nigeria has been confronted with varied degrees of political crises and violence that threatened its unity and corporate existence. No community is immune of these conflicts which are more or less of behavioural patterns involving two or more individual ties that can be inter-personalities, inter-groups, inter-organisations and inter-states.

The effects of disunity and conflicts result majorly in negative outcomes for the governments at all levels – federal, state and local governments. This include lost of revenue for developmental projects, political hostilities, unwarranted industrial unrest, incessant industrial strikes, instigated protests and vandalisation of government properties, communal clashes, electoral crises, fueling of inter and intra-party crises, sponsoring of campaign of hatred by political actors, political and religious extremism, promoting of ethno-political agenda by ethnic groups, abusing and violation of human rights leading to confrontation with security agents with the attendant consequence of human casualties and destruction of properties.

History revealed the persistence political, socio-economic conflicts and disunity in Kwara state in the past and in the very recent past that claimed the lives of the citizens and properties.

The coming of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq completely changed the political, socio-economic narratives of the state from disunity, conflicts, violence to an enduring peace, unity, hopeful, stable, progress and real harmony.

The prevailing peace and unity in the state is now encouraging  genuine investors to  coming back to the state. The ease and facilities of doing business and investment growing daily in all the communities across the state.

Upon all political murmuring, wranglings and provocations by his political enemies at all levels,the governor maintained absolute peace and unity approach in government business and party affairs as well as community issues.

He strictly and carefully abides by democratic principles and choose his words and utterances diligently towards spreading  peace and unity among the political stakeholders and the teeming – electorate or populace. These are marvelous and prudent ideas keeping him going at ease and progressing politically that need to be emulated by individuals or groups in our communities.

We must learn or know that the human tongue is a beast  that only a few can master. It strains constantly to break out of cage, and if it is not tamed, it will run wild and cause you grief. Power cannot accrue to those who squander their treasure of words. Hence, political lousiness, braggarts, bad and busy-mouths vomiting conflicts and violence, fanning ember of disunity and non peaceful political arrangements can cause grief and disasters for the perpetrators and enemies of peace and unity in the state and beyond.

According to Governor AbdulTahman AbdulRazaq, the only path to progress is to maintain peace and unity in our domains with different stakeholders, political class, community leaders, traditional rulers, tribal and business associations, development unions, youths and adult groups and government functionaries at all levels. On Peace and Unity, we stand!
