The Zamfara All Progressives Vanguard has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and minister of state for defence, Bello Matawalle, for the temporary appointment of Alhaji Yazid Danfulani as the executive secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative, even though the announcement was later reversed.

In a statement released by the group’s spokesperson, Mikailu Aliyu Gusau, the Vanguard lauded the president for showing appreciation for loyalty within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Though short-lived, this decision highlights President Tinubu’s dedication to recognising and rewarding loyalty and commitment within the APC,” Gusau stated. “It acknowledges those who tirelessly contributed to the party’s success in the 2023 elections.”

The group characterised Alhaji Yazid Danfulani as a devoted APC member whose efforts were crucial to the party’s electoral achievements.

“Alhaji Yazid Danfulani has shown steadfast loyalty and dedication to the party’s vision and objectives,” Gusau noted. “His contributions during the presidential campaign were instrumental in the party’s success, and he deserves recognition for his service.”

Despite the unexpected cancellation of Danfulani’s appointment, the Vanguard remained optimistic about Tinubu’s leadership.

“We are undeterred. We have faith in the wisdom of President Tinubu’s administration and believe that greater opportunities lie ahead for Alhaji Yazid,” Gusau stated. “His integrity, humility, and commitment have made a lasting impression on the people of Zamfara and the APC family.”

The group also urged President Tinubu to consider Danfulani for another significant role, highlighting his qualifications for further responsibilities.

“His proven track record of service and loyalty positions him as an excellent candidate for a role that aligns with the administration’s developmental objectives,” Gusau added.

“We thank President Tinubu and Dr Matawalle for acknowledging Alhaji Yazid’s contributions,” Gusau concluded. “We fully support this administration’s vision of progress and inclusivity.”
