The Patriotic Front (TPF) has praised the Minister of State for Police Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, for her efforts in providing economic empowerment packages to less-privileged individuals across Nasarawa State.

The group described her as a “true daughter of Nasarawa.” Minister Imaan, who hails from Keffi local government area of Nasarawa State, previously served as the Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRMIDP) before her appointment to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet in 2023.

The group noted that in addition to her diligent performance of official duties, Minister Imaan has shown extraordinary care and support for vulnerable individuals in the state. Her initiatives included providing scholarships to state indigenes for both local and international graduate and postgraduate studies.

According to TPF, Minister Imaan has played a critical role in securing appointments for Nasarawa State indigenes in various ministries, departments, and agencies of government. She has also supported the enlistment of the state’s indigenes into the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil in Kano State.

“We deem it necessary to acknowledge the modest contributions of Minister Imaan in providing economic empowerment to over 500 women and youth. Many of these individuals, having been taught valuable skills, are now gainfully employed and able to support their families,” the group stated.

Minister Imaan is leading an ambitious Renewed Hope Police Reform program aimed at strengthening internal security in Nigeria. This includes supporting the fast-tracking of the National Criminal Data Fusion Center (NCDFC) for the Nigeria Police Force, which is at an advanced stage of completion.

“Minister Imaan is also championing a strategic shift towards community policing to improve overall safety and security in our communities. She has played instrumental roles in securing commitments on technical assistance and funding from various local and international partners to strengthen the Nigeria Police Force,” TPF added.
