The Superintendent of Vitallife Discipleship Church, Enugu, Rev. Daniel Nnamani, has urged Nigerians especially Christians not to compromise their faith in the face of harsh socioeconomic realities in the country.

Nnamani made the call yesterday in Enugu during a press conference to herald the forthcoming Vitallife International Believers’ Conference 2024 holding between Friday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 24, in Enugu.

The cleric noted that “everybody is feeling the pinch of socioeconomic hardship,” adding that Christians should not, for the sake of socioeconomic realities, lose their steadfastness in abiding by God’s instructions and laws.

According to him, “Situation like the one we find ourselves in the country can make a righteous person turn to become unrighteous and cut corners to survive and become a thief overnight.

“Once one is hungry, he is bound to be desperate and unless he has strong faith in God that God will see him through. And always God sure does; but those of little faith will fall.

“We are calling people to come to the conference because we want to sit people down, Christians and non-Christians, to let them know the importance of trusting the Lord no matter how bad things had become.

“Even if you do not see relief in sight, you must trust the Lord and depend on Him.

“We must continue to pray that God changes our situation and transform the condition of the country, so that our people will relax and enjoy themselves once again,” he said.

Nnamani said that Christians must play their own role of engaging in a livelihood and working hard daily.

He said, “Then, we should leave the rest of our daily provisions to the Great Hands of Almighty God with Whom nothing is impossible.”

The cleric noted that the present condition provides an opportunity to deepen Christians’ knowledge of the Lord by constantly reading the Holy Bible and meditating in it as well as engaging in gainful spiritual exercises.

“It is more expedient in this time to ask and live by the Grace of God so that one’s struggle in everything in life would be minimal while there will be greater result each day,” he said.

He, however, noted that the country was not immune from the current global economic crisis, adding that Nigeria’s situation could be tackled with disciplined and focused leadership with people-oriented programmes.

Nnamani also called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu with prayers, bright ideas and forthrightness to succeed since “his success is the success of the entire country”.
