Former speaker of the House of Representatives, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to listen to the cries of the citizens over the current economic hardship being experienced in every household in the country.
Tambuwal, who alos served as governor of Sokoto State, spoke in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital yesterday.
He specifically demanded that the president must rally every citizen towards ensuring that things are put in better shape for the progress of the country, bearing in mind that “he sought for this job and he got it”.
Tambuwal now senator representing Sokoto South at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, spoke with journalists after his visit to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo to felicitate with him on the occasion of his 87th birthday.
While reacting to the state of the nation, Tambuwal said Nigerians must continue to pray and do the right thing; including those in government and followers.
“My clarion call is to Mr. President as the situation is getting worse by the day. Mr. President should listen to the cries of Nigerians, the country is going through hard times, things have never been this bad.”
“But he sought this job and he got it, so, he needs to rally and make sure that things are put in better shape for the progress of Nigeria,” he said.
Tambuwal, however, urged Nigerians not to get despondent and not lose hope, as things would change for good.
On his visit to Obasanjo, Tambuwal said he has always been part of the family and coming to felicitate with him on his birthday was an annual thing.
“I came all the way to Abeokuta to come as I always do every year on his birthday. I pray with Baba for more good health, many more years of service to Nigeria and to humanity,” he said.
