Sources hinted that Abo’ore had volunteered to help the vigilantes arrest the hoodlums who were using an uncompleted building in the neighbourhood to smoke cannabis.

It was learnt that in the process, the hoodlums used scissors to stab Abo’ore and he was later confirmed dead at Minna General Hospital.

The Niger Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident to LEADERSHIP saying “information was received from a vigilante leader in Fadikpe area of Minna that some miscreants were sighted around Rafi area of Fadikpe smoking cannabis”.

“As a result of this, the vigilante members mobilised to the area to effect arrest pending the arrival of the Police, while one Mohammed Abo’ore, a community member volunteered to assist the vigilante men in the arrest.

He said Abdullahi Rabiu, one of the miscreants, was arrested and was under investigation. He was assisting the police with further information to arrest others.

In another development, he said one Nura Yarima, a public affairs commentator from Bosso reported at GRA Division that some miscreants identified as Mansir Kabir, Abubakar, Hamza, and Abu all of Abayi close, conspired and attacked him with dangerous weapons in a shop at a Plaza, along Bosso road, Minna.

“He sustained serious injuries from the attack, while Mansir Kabir was arrested and investigation is ongoing with a view to arresting others for the offence of assault and causing injury against the victim”, the PPRO added.
