Federal commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Aliyu Ahmed has reiterated that protecting persons of concern is the commission’s immediate priority.

Addressing the press when he officially assumed office yesterday in Abuja, he outlined five key areas aimed at achieving the commission’s objectives, saying he would “revitalise strategic partnerships to enhance cooperation; prioritise the orientation and protecting persons of concern; formulate efficient policies that can be readily implemented.”

Others according to him include “improving the welfare of workers, recognising that a comfortable environment is essential for efficient work and upholding the image of the country, placing it at the forefront of their endeavours.”

Earlier, he expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his appointment, acknowledging the responsibility bestowed upon him by divine mercy.
