Chairman of Gerawa Group of Companies, owners of Gerawa Rice Mill, Alhaji Isa Muhammed Gerawa, has described his nomination as Business Person of the Year 2023 by LEADERSHIP Newspapers as a great honour which he deeply appreciates.
The entrepreneur disclosed this yesterday when the management team of LEADERSHIP Group Limited, led by the director, Special Projects, Augustine Agbo, presented the nomination letter to him at his office in Abuja.
Gerawa commended LEADERSHIP for recognising outstanding individuals and organisations who are diligent and dedicated to uplifting Nigeria as a nation.

He said, “The newspaper is known to select only distinguished individuals and organisations annually, who have contributed their quota towards the development of the country, and in my case, it is in the agricultural sector.
‘‘I appreciate the staff of LEADERSHIP for honouring me with this award. We are not the best in terms of business, but you found us worthy. This is a result of your in-depth research and understanding of our contributions to the economy that merited this award. We affirm our efforts in sustaining, if not surpassing, our efforts, upon which this nomination was made. We are indeed very grateful.”
Speaking about the conference, he gave his assurance to be present in person to receive the ‘most prestigious award.’

Presenting the letter to the chairman, Agbo commended Gerawa for his dedication to the nation’s agricultural sector, adding that food is really essential to everyone, both the rich and poor.
He noted that in 16 years of the Awards, awardees have been those who had worked hard for the development of society and humanity and had impacted the lives of Nigerians, especially the poor.
He further said that in the 20 years of LEADERSHIP’s existence, the organisation has identified and awarded many organisations and persons who have impacted meaningfully on the lives of people in different ways across the country.

Other members of LEADERSHIP management that accompanied Agbo include: director, Adverts, Fadilah Ismail and director, Editorial Services and Business, Bayo Amodu.
