I Feared My Career Had Stalled Before 2026 AMVCA Win — Linda Ejiofor

Nollywood actress, Linda Ejiofor, has revealed that she once battled severe professional anxiety, fearing that her acting career had hit a definitive standstill three years before her win at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Speaking in an interview with Nollywire, conducted by her husband and fellow actor, Ibrahim Suleiman, the screen star stated that during her period of perceived career stagnation, she had to seek spiritual direction and divine intervention through prayer.

According to Ejiofor, the definitive breakthrough came after she landed two major feature film roles that completely redefined her career path and restored her professional confidence.

“Three years ago, I thought my career was stagnant and not going anywhere, and I asked God for something, anything. And He gave me two beautiful stories,” she stated.

The actress expressed profound appreciation to her husband for his emotional support and consistency during her moments of self-doubt, noting that he constantly validated her artistic performances when she could not bring herself to believe in her own capabilities.

“I am so grateful to God, grateful to my husband because he stood by me through this. He told me that I did well in both movies. To be honest, I didn’t believe him,” Ejiofor added.

The turnaround in her career was solidified at the 2026 AMVCA, where she recorded a rare double win on the same night, winning the Best Lead Actress award for her role in The Serpent’s Gift and the Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Herd.
