Veteran Nollywood actress Mama Awero, born Olanrewaju Hassan Adeshina, has reaffirmed her deep commitment to acting, saying the craft remains the only career she truly knows after more than 60 years in the industry.

In a recent interview, the 75-year-old screen legend revealed that she began acting in 1964 and intends to continue performing for as long as she is able. According to her, the stage and screen shaped her life’s journey, adding that she also developed skills in film costuming through mentorship during her early theatre years.

Reflecting on her experience in the iconic Awada Keri Keri theatre group, Mama Awero shared insights into its lesser-known members, noting that several now-prominent actors began their careers within the collective. She highlighted names such as Sola Sobowale, Jide Kosoko, Yomi Fash-Lanso and Dele Odule, among others, who passed through the troupe.
