I Will Never Cede Any Part Of Benue Land To Herdsmen –Alia

Benue State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has said he will never cede any part of Benue land to herdsmen, vowing that his administration would defeat insecurity.

Governor Alia who stated this while addressing the people of Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo Local Government Areas at Katsina-Ala during the thank-you tour, said his administration will defeat insecurity ravaging some parts of the state.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing and siting of Nigeria Army 5 Division in Benue state.

According to governor Alia, “Benue will defeat insecurity. I will never cede any part of Benue land to herdsmen.”

Earlier, former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, who accompanied the governor on the tour described the administration of Governor Alia as one that was delivering on its promises to the people of the state.

Suswam expressed confidence that the Alia’s administration ongoing infrastructural projects would extend development to every part of the state, while pledging the continued support of the Sankera people for Governor Alia’s re-election.

In his remarks, the first class chief of Sankera intermediate area, Tor Sankera, His Royal Highness, David Sevav, appealed to governor Alia for the resuscitation of waterworks serving the area and increased appointments for Sankera indigenes, adding the residents would reciprocate the gestures with block votes in 2027 elections.
