The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) senatorial candidate for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Anthony Ezekwugo, has said he will pursue the creation of a mayoral position for the FCT.

He also said he will push for the creation of an additional seat in the House of Representatives for the FCT.

Ezekwugo in a chat with Friday LEADERSHIP, said his party stands a good chance of winning the election because he enjoys massive support of the Southern and Middlebelt leaders in the FCT.

On the clamour for mayoral seat in FCT he said, “I have two options if they can give a mayor to the Federal Capital Territory, or increase the number of seats and constituencies for the area. ie that the House of Representatives and Senate. We shouldn’t have one senator and two House of Representatives for the whole FCT. I will sponsor a bill that will be open to all residents and indigenes of FCT.”

He also said he is running a youth oriented campaign because his priority is to empower the youths if he emerges a federal lawmaker.

“I believe if we can empower the youths, banditry and insecurity in the country will be drastically curtailed if not eradicated.  The youths will be trained more on ICT. Also, I want to bring mass Agricultural revolution in the Federal Capital Territory FCT because Agriculture is the highest employer of labour. I am an Igbo man, I don’t believe in giving them fish but teaching them how to catch fish. I want to run a government that will have women inclusiveness and women will be properly represented. Women, especially widows, will be trained on micro entrepreneurship,” he said.
