Iconic Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal who is popularly known as K1 De Ultimate has publicly declared his membership of the white garment church, the Celestial Church of Christ.
K1 who is a Muslim disclosed his membership of the white garment church in an interview he granted Agbaletu TV on Wednesday.
The renowned musician said he became a member of the church in his quest to know God and he is proud to have joined the church.
Ayinde who also said he built a parish for the church, added that he explored both Islam and Christianity in his journey to know God and has never regretted his actions.
“I attend Celestial church. I am a bonafide member of the celestial church. A proud one. In fact, I built a church. I sought different religions while trying to know God in both popular religions. There’s nowhere I didn’t try to find God,” he said.
The 68-year-old Ayinde who holds the titles of Mayegun of Yorubaland and Olori Omo Oba Akile Ijebuland, among others, also expressed displeasure that the living Fuji legend, General Kollington Ayinla did not attend his mother’s funeral recently.
K1 De Ultimate lamented that when the mothers of Kollington and late renowned Fuji originator, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister died, he played crucial role in their funeral.
“I am so angry with Alhaji Kollington because he never showed up to offer his condolences when I lost my mum.
“When his own mother passed away, I supported him to give his mum a befitting burial. I brought a lot of dignitaries to the burial for him and I handled all the finances 100%. See how he paid me back.
“He is in Nigeria, hale and hearty and the only excuse he gave was that he called me and I didn’t pick up. Am I not supposed to be angry?”
