Following the Ezeship tussle, in Umuezeanoruo Eziama Autonomous Community in Nkwerre local government area of Imo State, Eze Emmanuel Ekwujuru Uzoho has advised one Emeka Obiefule to answer the police invitation.
Uzoho spoke to newsmen in Owerri, yesterday, while reacting to an attempt by Obiefule to credit an interview he (Uzoho) granted to another person, Chikezie Nwadike.
Uzoho said such move was to divert attention from the main issues in the invitation.
According to Uzoho, “I am responsible for the publication and it was an advice to one Emeka Obiefule to go and face the charges against him at Police Headquarters, Abuja. I wrote the petition and all the issues raised are there. I was the one that granted the press interview which was published and wondered why Chikezie Nwadike, an illustrious son of the community is being accused.
“A Police Team from FCID Abuja was in Imo State for you, but you evaded, and they dropped an invitation for you and other suspects to report, which you did not honour, and I wondered why you avoided the invitation as you claimed to be innocent of the charges. In many occasions that you arrested me unlawfully, I did make myself available to the police because I have no skeletons in the cupboard. The difference is clear.
“I have pleaded with Chikezie Nwadike not to take any legal action against you for accusing him of what he is not responsible for but you are advised to focus on answering the Police Invitation for you and others”.
It was gathered that Chikezie Nwadike had decided not to press charges over the alleged defamation of his character based on the appeal made by Eze Uzoho; however, he vowed that he would not hesitate to go to court should such defamation continue. He wondered why he was defamed when he was neither from their village, nor in any contest with Obiefule.
