The newly trained Focal Persons appointed by the Yobe State Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni have assured to implement lessons learnt during the three days capacity building through effective collaboration, partnership and teamwork for better results.
The focal persons have in a 12 point communiqué issued at the end of the three days workshop in Kano said as government agents, they will work towards justifying the investment for the training by rededicating themselves to effective partnership for better Yobe.
The communiqué reads “Focal Persons should translate the knowledge and skills acquired into their works to enhance qualitative and impactful service delivery.
“Global and local societies are growing more complex and sophisticated, thus, focal persons need to update themselves to remain relevant in the ever-growing world.
“Focal Persons should not politicise their duties to avert avoidable problems with their stakeholders and partners.
“Focal Persons should see themselves as bridges between the government, agencies and development partners to maximise results in the pursuit of development in Yobe State.
“Focal Persons should continue to build their capacities in digital literacy to optimise their outputs.
“Focal Persons are encouraged to study the Freedom of Information Act 2011 and educate themselves on the type of information that can be made public and those that are considered classified.
“Analytical and problem-solving skills are key prerequisites for a successful coordination of development projects for the focal persons,” its stated.
The communiqué further stressed the need for strengthening coordination of Focal Persons activities to avoid overlap and establish strong working relationship with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for seamless implementation.
“Inclusivity is fundamental in programme management for development which requires the focal persons to understand its imperatives and give it high level of considerations.
“Focal Persons should apply highest level of emotional intelligence for successful community mobilisation and engagement.
“The Focal persons assured the Yobe State Government that the lessons learnt would be put into practice.
“Focal persons reaffirmed their commitment to teamwork, collaboration and partnership to support the good policies and programmes of the Governor Buni’s administration.”
The three-day workshop organised by the Office of the Secretary was declared open by the Yobe State Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni who represented by the SSG, Alh. Baba Mallam Wali.
During the training, the focal persons were presented with laptops among others by the representative of the Governor, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali.
