Imumolen-led Accord Faction Endorses Tinubu’s Re-election, APC Candidate In Osun

The  Chris Imumolen-led faction of the Accord Party has endorsed the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, citing what it described as the President’s efforts to advance national development and implement economic reforms.
Professor Imumolen, the factional National Chairman of Accord, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, saying the decision was taken in the best interest of the country.

He said the faction’s support for Tinubu was based on its conviction that Nigeria needed continuity in policies aimed at strengthening the economy, deepening reforms and promoting national stability.

“Our support for President Tinubu is based on our conviction that Nigeria’s progress requires continuity in policies that strengthen our economy, deepen reforms, and promote national stability.

“We have therefore endorsed his re-election because we believe it is in the best interest of our country,” he said.

On the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Imumolen disclosed that the faction had also taken a strategic decision to support and adopt the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Munirudeen Oyebamiji.

He said the decision was aimed at promoting purposeful leadership and good governance in the state.

“This strategic decision is driven solely by our commitment to ensuring competent leadership and sustainable development for the people of Osun State,” Imumolen said.

He, however, clarified that the endorsement of Tinubu did not amount to the dissolution of Accord or its merger with another political platform.

Imumolen urged the public, media and political stakeholders to distinguish between the party’s support for Tinubu at the national level and its alliance with the APC in Osun State.
“Accord remains an independent political party with its own constitution, leadership, ideology, and vision for Nigeria.

“Any contrary interpretation or suggestion that the Accord Party has ceased to exist as an independent political party is inaccurate and misleading.

“The Accord Party remains committed to democratic ideals, national unity, and issue-based politics, and will continue to make decisions that it believes are in the best interest of Nigeria and its people,” he said.
