Ipswich Town have completed the £20 million signing of Ghana international winger Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City, the Premier League club announced.
The 22-year-old has agreed a five-year contract and becomes Ipswich’s fifth summer acquisition as the club prepares for its top-flight return. Fatawu scored 16 goals in 100 appearances for Leicester since his 2023 move from Sporting.
To accommodate the arrival, Ipswich are open to selling winger Jaden Philogene, 24, who has attracted interest from Bologna, Roma and Benfica, according to club sources.
Ipswich have already signed striker Emersonn from Toulouse for a club-record £26m, plus defenders Cedric Kipre, forward Chuba Akpom and goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen.
“The ambition is very exciting,” Fatawu said. “After speaking to the manager, I know what the expectation is.”
Leicester, relegated from the Championship last season, will play in the third tier.
Ipswich, who finished second in the Championship, host Sunderland on Aug. 22 in their Premier League opener.
