Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed he has never fully trusted referees or match officials since arriving in England.

Guardiola also described VAR as a “flip of a coin”. He was speaking to reporters ahead of Wednesday night’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

City have to beat Crystal Palace to keep up pressure on Arsenal in the title race.

Guardiola has now warned his players that they cannot blame referees if they do not achieve their goals this season.

“We lost the two finals of the FA Cup because the referees didn’t do their jobs as they should have, even the VAR,” Guardiola said.
