Jamaican government is seeking collaboration with Nigeria in the film and animation industry.

Jamaican High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Lincoln Downer disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Minster of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa.

Acknowledging the existing ties between Nigeria and Jamaica, which has lasted over 54 years including the recent technical eco-programme, which saw artisans dispatched to Jamaica for batik and jewel-making exchanges, Downer said there is room for expansion on that collaboration to the movie industry.

“Nigeria and Jamaica are in very close relations when it comes to entertainment. A lot of Nigerian entertainers like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Victor Thompson, have been to Jamaica.

“We are looking forward to this sort of exchanges and to see how we can establish a framework for deeper collaboration between the two countries.”
