Nigerian singer and songwriter, Johny Drille, Easter Medley is a masterful short on how to do soul-lifting praise and worship in one minute.
Released on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, on his official YouTube account @officialjohnnydrille, the medley comprises the choruses of Women of Faith’s ‘Above All’, Hillsong’s ‘What A Beautiful Name’, and Travis Greene’s ‘You Made A Way’, then rounded off with ‘Above All’.
Drille really put some thought into curating the 1 minute 51 seconds gospel medley with the season of the Lord’s resurrection and triumph over death in mind – he begins with ‘Above All’ reiterating Jesus’ choice to save mankind from death through the cross, with the chorus:
“Crucified, laid behind a stone. He lived to die, rejected and alone, like a rose trampled on the ground, he took the fall, and thought of me above all.”
He then smoothly transitioned to the resurrection of Christ, with the chorus of ‘What A Beautiful Name’:
“Death could not hold you; Mountains fall before you; you silenced the boast of sin and grave. The heavens are roaring, the praise of your glory, for you are raised to life again. You have no rival, you have no equal, now and forever God you reign. Yours is the kingdom, yours is the glory, yours is the name above all names.”
Crescendos to (chorus, ‘You Made A Way’), extolling the greatness of God.
“You move mountains, and you cause walls to fall. With your power, you perform miracles. There is nothing, nothing impossible,” extolling the power and greatness of God.”
Then decrescendos with, “You took the fall, and thought of me, above all.”
Apparently, this is an annual ritual for the singer, as acknowledged by a follower in the comments. But the rest of the netizens voiced their appreciation of the artiste and the song through which he shares the gospel.
“My best playlist on your channel is the Music Mondays, especially the Gospel medley songs. I still think it’s where the unction is,” said @tweethat453
