The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to launch a formal investigation into the recent security breach involving popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as KWAM 1, and ValueJet airline staff, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

In a statement issued on Thursday, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the regulatory agency’s decision to escalate the matter to top federal authorities.

“We have officially petitioned the AGF and the IGP to investigate and prosecute the incident involving Mr. Wasiu Ayinde and ValueJet,” Achimugu stated.

He said the altercation, which occurred on Tue August 5, 2025, not only disrupted standard operating procedures at the airport but also violated aviation safety protocols, posing a threat to both crew and ground operations.

“The actions reported significantly disrupted standard airport procedures and compromised aviation safety protocols,” Achimugu added. “We consider this a serious matter that warrants full legal scrutiny.”

LEADERSHIP reports that the incident in question saw KWAM 1 allegedly attempting to board a ValueJet flight while carrying a flask containing liquid, allegedly alcoholic. Despite warnings from the flight crew and airport security, the musician insisted on boarding with the item. The situation escalated, leading to what the NCAA later described as a “serious safety breach,” including a moment where the musician appeared to block the aircraft from taxiing.

A viral video from the scene captured the artist on the tarmac, apparently dodging the wing of the aircraft as it began to move.

In response, the NCAA suspended the licences of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba, the crew members operating the flight, for initiating taxi procedures without pre-departure clearance from Air Traffic Control (ATC). KWAM 1 was also placed on a six-month no-fly list by NCAA.
