JUST-IN: Security Operatives Foil Attempt To Snatch Ballot Box In Osun

Attempt by unknown gunmen to snatch a ballot box at Ward 5, Units 10 & 11, Awosuru, Alekuwodo, in Osogbo local government area of Osun State was resisted by a combined team of armed security personnel on Saturday morning.

The gunmen, who momentarily disrupted voting activities, took to their heels when the a reinforcement of armed security personnel arrived the scene.

It was gathered that the hoodlums destroyed pasted voter list, and attempted to make away with ballot box.

Normalcy has, however, been restored as at the time of filing this report as voters were seen exercising their franchise under heavy security.

LEADERSHIP reports that only the State House of Assembly election is taking in Osun State as the governorship election already took place only few months ago.
