Justices’ Residential Quarters: APC Commends Tinubu, Wike, Says It Will Promote Judicial Efficiency

By James Kwen, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for the delivery of key judicial infrastructure projects in Abuja, describing the development as a major boost to judicial efficiency and the administration of justice.

The ruling party specifically applauded the commissioning of the newly completed Court of Appeal Complex, equipped with modern facilities, as well as the 20-unit residential quarters for Court of Appeal Justices and Federal High Court judges. It also welcomed the planned commissioning of another 20-unit residential quarters for judges of the Federal Capital Territory High Court.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said the projects demonstrate the Tinubu administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and enhancing the welfare of judicial officers.

The party also celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of residential quarters for judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria and the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The project, which is expected to be completed by January 2027, forms part of broader interventions aimed at improving facilities and capacity within the justice sector.

According to the APC, the delivery of the judicial infrastructure projects reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting the rule of law, safeguarding judicial independence, and ensuring the dignity and welfare of members of the Bench.
“The delivery of these critical and massive judicial infrastructure projects reflects President Tinubu’s iron-clad commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law, upholding the independence of the judiciary, and guaranteeing the dignity and welfare of judicial officers,” the statement said.

The party noted that the provision of world-class court facilities and quality accommodation for judicial officers represents a strategic investment in justice delivery and democratic governance.

It added that improved working and living conditions for judges would enhance judicial efficiency and strengthen public confidence in the nation’s justice system.

The APC further praised Wike for what it described as his dedication, leadership, and effective execution of projects in the FCT, saying his efforts have contributed significantly to the realization of the administration’s broader goals of institutional reform, infrastructure development, and national progress.

The party maintained that the investments in judicial infrastructure serve as evidence that effective justice delivery, respect for the rule of law, and the promotion of democratic values remain central to the Tinubu administration’s development agenda.

According to the APC, the projects underscore the government’s resolve to build stronger institutions capable of supporting Nigeria’s democratic growth and long-term prosperity.
