Hajara Alabelewe, the wife of Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, Comrade Abdulgafar Alabelewe is dead.

Hajara passed on at about 12am on Sunday August 24, 2025, after a very brief illness.

Comrade Alabelewe announced the death of his wife on the platform of the Council on Sunday.

“Innalillahi wa inna illehi rajiun. Allah took my beloved wife about two hours ago. Please, put her in your prayers,” he wrote.

Alabelewe also confirmed the incident through a call by our correspondent, adding that the deceased died after a brief illness. “She died as a result of malaria,” he said.

Hajara Alabelewe is survived by her husband and four sons.
