Kaduna State government has reaffirmed commitment to attracting foreign direct investment, commending the successes of Arla Farms in the state.
The state deputy governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, stated this yesterday at the Arla Farms Open Day in Damau, Kubau local government area.
She said, “Arla Farms’ investment in Kaduna State reflects the conducive business environment we have created. This project strengthens our dairy sector, empowers local communities, and significantly contributes to our state’s economy”.
She commended the company for introducing modern farming techniques and technology, alongside capital investment, into Nigeria’s dairy industry.
She also noted that the project offered a promising solution to the farmer-herder conflict by demonstrating how modern cattle rearing could be both profitable and sustainable.
According to her, Kaduna State’s investment drive has yielded significant results, with Arla Farms’ investment exceeding N10 billion.
She assured the dairy company of the State government’s unwavering support and invited the international community to explore Kaduna State’s vast investment opportunities.
Arla’s managing director, Mr. Peder Pedersen, praised the state government’s support while noting that the firm was committed to Nigeria’s dairy industry.
Represented by the senior corporate affairs and communication officer, Elele Ogunsanya, he highlighted the firm’s innovative methods to reduce environmental impact while increasing efficiency and productivity.
