The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has elected Dr. Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa, as its new state chairman following a congress held on Saturday at the party’s secretariat on Lugard Road in Nasarawa GRA, Kano.
The congress was chaired by former deputy governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, alongside other prominent stakeholders of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Also present at the event was the senator representing Kano Central, Rufa’i Sani Hanga, along with other key party leaders who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the congress.
Security and electoral agencies monitored the process to ensure transparency and order. Representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were on ground to observe the proceedings.
Delegates from all the 44 local government areas of Kano State participated in the congress, which reportedly recorded no incidents of violence or disruption.
At the conclusion of the exercise, party leaders unanimously adopted Dungurawa as the new NNPP chairman in Kano State.
