The Kano State Police Command has handed over a recovered Honda Pilot Jeep to its rightful owner, a resident of Bauchi State, after a successful investigation into an armed robbery incident.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command disclosed that “the motor vehicle, which was robbed at gunpoint in Bauchi, was recovered in Plateau State following a thorough investigation by officers of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), Kano State Police Command.”

The statement further noted that the recovery underscored the Command’s commitment to tracking stolen vehicles across state lines and ensuring they were returned to their owners.

In a related development, the Police said they also recovered a Toyota Sienna vehicle suspected to have been stolen. According to the release, “the Command also recovered a Toyota Siena motor vehicle with number plate RBC-801HM, maroon in color, suspected to have been stolen, at an isolated area in Hotoro North, Kano.”

However, the Command said efforts to identify the owner of the vehicle have so far been unsuccessful.

“Despite efforts to locate the owner, the individual has not come forward with proof of ownership.

“The Kano State Police Command hereby appeals to the owner of the Toyota Seina vehicle to come forward with proof of ownership to facilitate its return,” the statement said, urging the owner to contact the command via phone line: 09065885622.

The Command also reassured members of the public of its “continued efforts to combat vehicle theft and related crimes in the state,” while encouraging residents to cooperate with the police by providing timely information.
