The institutes are the Poultry Institute in Tukui, Makoda; the Reformatory Institute, Kiru; the Artisan Fisheries Institute, Magaga in Kabo; Irrigation Institute Gwarzo and the Journalism Institute, Kano.
The state statistician-general and member of the steering committee on reviving the 26 entrepreneurship institutes, Dr. Aliyu Isa, disclosed this at a stakeholders’ workshop on job creation held in Kaduna.

According to him, the institutes were part of the 26 entrepreneurship outfits established during the administration of Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso and shut down and abandoned for eight years by the Umar Ganduje administration.

Isa said the decision of Governor Abba Yusuf to resuscitate the centres was part of his administration’s focus on human capital development as a tool for economic empowerment and poverty reduction.
He also added that the institutes will not only enable beneficiaries with valuable skills or boost local economies, but would also contribute significantly to the overall socio-economic transformation of the state.

“All preparations for the takeoff of these institutes have been finalised. Feeding arrangements, training materials, and basic infrastructure have been provided to ensure smooth operations from day one.
