In a statement issued on Friday by the Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations Unit, Abdullahi Datti, the university said the decision was approved by the University Senate at its 123rd meeting held on October 9, 2025.

According to the statement, the Senate acted upon the report of the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee, which recommended varying sanctions for students found guilty of violating examination rules.

“Thirty-four students were expelled, while 13 others were rusticated for one academic session. Several others received warning letters, depending on the severity of their offences,” the statement read.

The management of the University reaffirmed its commitment to upholding academic integrity and maintaining discipline among students.
