The awards were presented to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi yesterday by the chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), Faruk Aliyu Enabo.

He said the state received awards for the Best Hajj Airlift Exercise, Excellent Feeding Arrangement and Peaceful Conduct of Pilgrims among all Nigerian states.

Enabo said the state was among the best globally in the diligent conduct of the 2024 hajj exercise.

The agency chief said the success was due to the governor’s commitment to the conduct of the hajj, adding that his organisation had never had it so good in the last 20 years.
