Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris summoned an emergency security meeting at the weekend following incessant attacks by bandits in the state.

Officials said the meeting held at the Government House was aimed at strengthening coordinated efforts to address security challenges.

The governor at the meeting lamented the recent attacks in some parts of the state, saying his administration would not fold its arms to allow criminals attack or kill innocent people.

He commended efforts of security personnel and urged them to redouble their actions in the fight against bandits, noting that their efforts had made a significant impact in maintaining peace and harmony.

The governor urged residents to always support security personnel in discharging their responsibilities.

He expressed deep concern over the recent attacks in some parts of the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to do everything possible to curb insecurity and ensure that residents don’t live in fear.

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served. I urge all residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information. People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly,” he said.
