Keyamo Lauds XEJet Move To Grow Air Travel

As XEJet begins scheduled flight operations in the country, the minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said the airline’s operations will increase air travel in the country.

LEADERSHIP reports that the XEJet business class flight, 4U2202, operated with a  CRJ- 200 touched down at the domestic Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos at about 1:50 pm and taxied to Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) where the passengers were welcomed to a grand reception.

However, speaking at the event, the minister who was represented by the director of Airworthiness, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hassan Ejibunu, said affirmed the commitments of the ministry  to create an enabling environment that will support innovative and reliable airlines like XEJet that are ready to  bolster safety and efficient operations.

“The ministry is committed to creating an enabling environment that will support innovative and reliable airlines like XEJet, ensuring safe and efficient operations. I am confident that XEJet will be a valuable player in this journey, contributing to the quality, accessibility, and growth of air travel across our country,” Keyamo said.

Keyamo added that the success of the maiden flight was not only for XEJet but for the aviation industry in general.

Today’s flight from Abuja to Lagos signifies more than just the beginning of a new airline; it is a testament to the strength and resilience of Nigerian aviation, as well as the new opportunities ahead. Every new route and aircraft launched strengthens our air network, enhances passenger convenience, and drives tourism and business across Nigeria.”

He, therefore, affirmed the commitments of the ministry  to create an enabling environment that will support innovative and reliable airlines like XEJet that are ready to  bolster safety and efficient operations.

The minister who urged stakeholders to work together toward a brighter and more connected future for the industry.

‘Let us continue to work together toward a brighter, more connected future for Nigerian aviation. Thank you, and congratulations once again to XEJet on this remarkable achievement,” Keyamo urged.

He added that XEJet’s entry into the nation’s airspace will bring a new level of service, comfort, and safety for Nigerians.

“Today’s flight demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting new investments and partnerships that drive the growth and sustainability of civil aviation in Nigeria.”

The minister also commended the management of the new airline for its dedication to provide quality service and its trust in the aviation industry in Nigeria.

“I would like to commend X-Jet for their dedication to providing quality service and for the trust they have placed in the Nigerian aviation market. This is indeed a vote of confidence in our economy and in the vision we share to establish Nigeria as a regional aviation hub.

Also speaking, the XEJet’s chief executive officer, Emmanuel Iza, expressed strong confidence in the safety, comfort, and luxury XEJet brings to Nigerian aviation.

“For us at XEJet, it’s not just about seating size; it’s about the experience,” Iza said. He continued, “Our CRJ’s 22-inch seats and Embraer’s 16-18 inch options are designed for premium comfort and safety.”

He emphasised XEJet’s dedication to delivering high standards that redefine air travel in Nigeria.

Speaking earlier, the chief operating officer, XEJET, Sukh Mann, commended the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), for its critical role in XEJet’s certification.

He stated that the collaborative support from regulators enabled XEJet to uphold safety and operational standards, positioning it as a reliable choice for Nigerian travellers.
