Residents of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital were going about their normal daily activities on Thursday as security operatives from various agencies occupied major roads in the state capital.

Youth groups in the state had earlier disassociated themselves from the planned protest with the promise to attend the youth summit organised by the state’s Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Business ventures, banks and corporate offices remained open for business as residents go about their normal activities on Thursday.

Regular activities were ongoing at the popular Ganaja Flyover in Lokoja although heavy security presence was seen when our correspondent visited on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Youths from the three senatorial districts of the state were already gathering at the Glass House, the state Government House scheduled for the youth summit which is expected to be attended by the state Governor, Usman Ododo and other top officials of the state government.
