Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Tuesday, appointed Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe as the leader of the state’s contingent (Ameerul-Hajj) to 2024 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
Oloriegbe represented Kwara Central senatorial district in the National Assembly between 2019 and 2023.
Kwara State has at least 3,102 pilgrims for this year’s Hajj.
A statement signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, said, “the choice of the senator is borne out of his experience and networks as a Muslim community leader.
“The government believes that the senator will deploy his knowledge and understanding of the terrain to ensure improved coordination and efficiency for the exercise.”
