The rector of the polytechnic, Dr Abdul Jimoh Muhammed disclosed during an interview with LEADERSHIP in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Dr Muhammed said the management has also provided free medical screening for all the staff to ensure their wellbeing.

He said the salary increment was done in realisation of the harsh economic situation of the country to cushion its effects and boost the morale of the polytechnic’s staff across the board.

The rector added that the institution’s kind gestures were also aimed at complementing state government’s efforts in making life more bearable for the people of the state.

Muhammed, who emphasised the importance of supporting employees both financially and in keeping fit, said that, “as the country is facing the economic challenges, it is crucial that the management not only recognise their hardwork but also provide tangible support for them. ”

“The salary increase which is effective immediately, is expected to provide the much needed relief to staff who have been grappling with rising living costs and inflation,” he stated.

On the medical screening, the rector said that the initiative was aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of health issues and ensuring that staff receive timely medical attention.
