The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining visual order and public safety in outdoor advertising across the state.
This followed a visit by the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Environment, led by its Chairman, Hon. Shabi Rasheed Adekola, as part of its statutory oversight functions.
During the visit, LASAA managing director/CEO, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, and his management team briefed the lawmakers on the agency’s operations, performance indicators, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Discussions focused on policies and ongoing projects aimed at sustaining an organised and safe outdoor advertising environment in Lagos.
Prince Akiolu thanked the committee for its continuous support and guidance, reiterating the agency’s dedication to upholding best practices in signage regulation. He said LASAA remains focused on contributing to the sustainable development of the state’s visual environment for the benefit of residents and visitors.
In his remarks, Hon. Adekola commended LASAA’s operational efficiency and its role in keeping Lagos clean and safe through effective signage control. He stressed the importance of continued collaboration between the legislature and government agencies to promote accountability and enhance service delivery in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s agenda.
He also urged LASAA to intensify public sensitisation efforts to ensure compliance with regulations and boost revenue generation. According to him, it is essential for the agency to reassure the public of the safety and structural integrity of outdoor advertising installations across the state.
