The former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, described Senator Ohere as a steadfast leader and loyal political ally whose dedication to public service has left an indelible legacy in the state and beyond.

In his message, titled “Birthday: Message of FGYB to Sen. Ohere Sadiku Abubakar,” the former Governor celebrated Ohere’s journey through various impactful roles in government. From his time as Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, to his tenure as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and later as Commissioner for Works and Housing, Yahaya Bello recalled Ohere’s remarkable contributions to community development and state infrastructure.

“As our Commissioner for Works and Housing, you oversaw critical infrastructure projects that transformed the development and commercial landscape of Kogi State,” Bello wrote, praising Ohere’s commitment to excellence, loyalty, and visionary leadership.

He added: “Abu, you are more than a colleague to me, you are a brother, friend, confidant, and a true partner in progress. Your integrity, humility, and kindness are always appreciated. On this special milestone today, I pray the Almighty God continues to bless you with good health, wisdom, and higher heights in life and service.”

In his own remarks, Senator Ohere expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life, strength, and the opportunity to serve with honour. He extended appreciation to the people of Kogi Central and his broad base of supporters for their enduring confidence and support throughout his leadership journey.

He paid tribute to Nigeria’s late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, , whose passing has left a profound void in the country’s leadership history.

Describing the late President as a man of principle, moral clarity, and disciplined governance, Senator Ohere noted that Buhari was not only a leader of consequence but a national symbol of character in public life. He praised the former President’s contributions to anti-corruption efforts, infrastructure expansion, agricultural reform, and food security.

“He led with modesty and purpose, and was firmly committed to building institutions rather than personalities,” Ohere said, adding that Buhari’s tenure reshaped governance with a legacy of integrity and visionary reform.
