The Leadtech School of Management and Technology, Abuja, has been honoured with the African Trailblazer Excellence Award by the Unveiling African Parliament Writers in collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission.

The award recognises the institution’s outstanding contributions to skills-based and technology-driven education, entrepreneurship development, and rapid institutional growth within a short period of operation.

Leadtech is a fully accredited tertiary institution approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education to offer National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

Speaking on the award, the rector, Dr Musbau Abdulazeez, attributed the recognition to the institution’s commitment to practical education, technological innovation and entrepreneurship development among students.

According to him, Leadtech was nominated and selected for the award because of its pioneering role in promoting skills acquisition, technology-driven learning and entrepreneurial culture among students.

He highlighted the institution’s achievements, including the successful matriculation of its first set of students shortly after receiving approval and accreditation, as well as the continuous expansion of its academic and physical infrastructure, he said”

The Rector dedicated the award to the minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, and the executive secretary of the NBTE, Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje, for their support to the educational development in Nigeria.

“Dr. Abdulazeez noted that since commencing full academic activities on September 25, 2024, the institution has significantly expanded its academic resources and facilities, including increasing its library holdings to more than 10,000 multidisciplinary books and learning materials,” he said.

He reiterated that Leadtech’s vision extends beyond academic instruction to producing innovators, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers capable of making meaningful contributions to Nigeria, Africa and the global community.

The award is expected to further strengthen Leadtech’s position as one of Nigeria’s emerging institutions focused on technology, entrepreneurship and practical education.
