Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been shortlisted for the 2024 Best Men’s Player award, part of the annual Globe Soccer Awards hosted by the Dubai Sports Council.
Nigerian international and Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah are the only Africans in the shortlist that includes superstars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Phil Foden and Chelsea striker Cole Palmer
The Globe Soccer Awards made the announcement on Thursday via X.
The full list of nominees features a mix of established veterans and emerging talents across Europe’s top leagues.
Lookman has enjoyed a remarkable year for both club and country.
The Atalanta star scored three goals and registered one assist in seven outings for Super Eagles at the competition at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire..
The dazzling winger also scored a historic hat-trick for Atalanta in the final of the UEFA Europa League.
He also finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’or ranking and is also in the running for the CAF Men’s Player of the Year.
