In their announcement, Apple Music used a blend of Yoruba and Nigerian pidgin, saying “Oshe Naija,” which translates to “thanks Nigeria.”

Released in 2020, the “Made in Lagos” album featured Tems on a global hit “Essence”  which won a Grammy award.

Burna Boy’s album “Love, Damini” follows closely in second place. Notably, Burna Boy has four albums represented on the list.

Other albums making the top rankings include Tems’ album in 4th position, Davido’s “Timeless,” Asake’s “Work of Art,” and Omah Lay’s “Boy Alone.”
