Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has ordered that flags be flown at half-mast throughout the state in honour of the late lawmaker representing Ibadan North federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi.
The governor described the sudden demise of the member of the Green Chamber as shocking and a great loss to the state.
Governor Makinde prayed for the repose of the departed’s soul and the courage of the family to bear the unfortunate loss.
Also, the lawmaker representing Ibadan Northwest/ Ibadan Southwest federal constituency of Oyo state, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his colleague, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban.
Olajide’s special adviser for media and public affairs, Tolu Mustapha, described the late lawmaker, fondly called “Jagaban” by his numerous admirers, as a dedicated and hardworking lawmaker who contributed significantly to the country’s development.
“He was a brother and colleague who showed great commitment to our nation’s progress.
“His demise is a great loss to the National Assembly and the people of Oyo State,” Odidiomo said.
He extended his condolences to the friends, family, and political associates of the deceased and prayed for the repose of his soul.
Meanwhile, the minister of power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has described the death of Hon Musiliu Akinremi as a significant, personal loss to him.
In a condolence message personally signed by the minister, he described Akinremi as a brother and friend whose death came as a major surprise and shock that he is still trying to come to terms with.
