Megan Thee Stallion Makes Broadway Debut In ‘Moulin Rouge’

American singer and songwriter, Megan Thee Stallion, will make her Broadway debut in ‘Moulin Rouge’! The Musical.

She is playing the role of nightclub manager Harold Zidler, a part originated by Tony Award Winner, Danny Burstein. This marks the first time a woman will portray the character in any ‘Moulin Rouge’ production anywhere in the world.

Before this casting, Megan had only ever acted on Saturday Night Live (SNL) in Season 48, 2022, as a guest host.

Excited about the role, she said, “Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the ‘Moulin Rouge’! The Musical is an absolute honour. I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I am excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I am up for the challenge, and can’t wait for the Hotties (her fans) to see a new side of me.”

The show with Megan will run for eight weeks from March 24 to May 17, before it finally ends production after seven years. By then, ‘Moulin Rouge’ will have played 2,265 times, making it the 36th longest-running show on Broadway.

Producer Carmen Pavlovic said having the singer, rapper and songwriter on was a good way to end the show with a bang, and a treat for their audience.
